Living in Liberty’s goal is to restore dignity and freedom to victims of human trafficking by creating a loving and nurturing community that is safe and secure. We provide a safe, comfortable and loving home environment where victims receive the care, treatment and education necessary to move beyond their painful pasts and into a bright future. Living in Liberty shows victims how to trust others, be compassionate and value human life.
While in the safe house, victims have access to a network of trained professionals including counselors, healthcare providers, lawyers and educators. Each client receives services tailored to her needs. We help restore her physical health and mental well-being. Residents have the opportunity to learn skills to prepare for a self-sufficient future. We strive to restore each victim’s sense of value and worth by treating her with love, dignity and respect and providing her with resources and skills to step into a new life.
Through Living in Liberty, women live in a secure and emotionally comforting environment. Spirituality and faith are just as important to the healing process as physical and emotional healing. We build a community based on these ideals so that victims feel hope. Our wish is that the women in our care will find hope and use it to help other victims and educate non-victims so we can all help to eradicate modern-day slavery.
Living in Liberty teaches love and compassion through faith and spirituality to our residents and the community. Educating the community about the seriousness of this problem is second only to our desire to rescue victims from their tragic situations. Living in Liberty offers advocacy programs and seminars that bring this problem to light in local, national and international communities. We educate local, county and state governments about human trafficking in order to increase public awareness and provide more stringent punishment traffickers and those supporting their activities.
Through faith and community one can find hope, and with hope one can accomplish anything. We want to instill these beliefs in victims and non-victims alike and bring an end to human trafficking.
